Why two Mac editions?

Why DemoTake Studio can't operate other apps.

Every app on the Mac App Store runs in Apple's App Sandbox, as App Review Guideline 2.4.5 requires. The sandbox keeps each app in its own lane: a sandboxed app can't press buttons in another app through Accessibility, and it can't send mouse and keyboard events to one. That's a good rule. It's why no App Store app can quietly take over your Mac.

So we don't work around it, and there's no hidden helper in the bundle. DemoTake Studio does everything that fits inside the sandbox: it records, edits and exports, and your agent controls it over MCP. Operating your app is left to your agent's own computer-use tools, running with the permissions you gave them.

DemoTake Agent is distributed directly, signed with our Developer ID and notarized by Apple, which is Apple's supported path for software like this. It asks for Accessibility permission, which you can revoke at any time in System Settings.

With DemoTake Agent

  2. DemoTake presses “New invoice” in your app through Accessibility, in the background.

  3. It records, checks the result and saves a checkpoint. You never lose your mouse.

With DemoTake Studio (BYO agent)
